Director Fushihara’s delicate and heartwarming documentary follows the life of 90-year-old architect Shuichi Tsubata and his 87-year-old wife Hideko. They live in Aichi Prefecture in a rambling house of Shuichi’s own design inspired by his mentor Antonin Raymond. Their garden is bursting with 70 types of vegetables and 50 types of fruits, and they live in harmony with nature. As a skilled young architect, Shuichi used to be in charge of developing a new town 50 years ago. He wanted to build houses that can coexist with woods, but his idea was rejected by the time of economy-first policy. He left the job and started his own way of living to embody the ideal.
