The 2nd Annual Japan Film Festival of San Francisco will be held from Saturday, July 19th to Sunday, July 27th, 2014 at NEW PEOPLE Cinema! This one and only fully-dedicated Japanese film event of the Bay Area will also be a prominent feature of the 2014 J-POP SUMMIT Festival (Taking place in Japantown on Saturday, July 19th and Sunday, July 20th). Japanese live-action and animation film premieres, special appearance and autograph sessions by directors and actors, special giveaways, and more exciting events are being planned! JFFSF 2013 REVIEW! The First Annual Japan Film Festival of San Francisco took place in the summer of 2013 and was remarkably successful. We had film premiere events with appearances of Director Miwa Nishikawa (Dreams for Sale) and Director Shinsuke Sato (Library Wars), film premiere and workshop by Architect Kyohei Sakamoto (How to Build a Mobile House), the U.S. premiere of Evangelion 3.0: You Can (Not) Redo and much more!
